Embedded Software Engineer – Audio

To develop embedded systems within audio products. This will be a key position in a small team developing a new range of cutting edge Hi-Fi products that fully integrate digital media sources with conventional Hi-Fi. The platform is based around an ARM 9 processor running Linux, with interfaces to Ethernet and USB plus communication via protocols such as RS232, IR, I2C/SPI and simple i/o.

Skills/Attributes that are needed:

o Embedded Linux experience
o 32 bit microprocessor designs/coding, preferably ARM9
o C/C++ and assembler level programming
o Experience of 8/16 bit (PIC) microprocessor coding
o Hardware development would be an advantage including schematic design and prototyping
o Experience of some or all of the following:
• Ethernet interfacing
• Wi-Fi
• Audio codecs
• Audio streaming and uPnP
• Internet radio
• Digital video
o Practical, hands-on attitude
o Experience of developing consumer products will be a benefit
o An interest in audio / video products
