Software Engineer – Media streaming

Following the extremely successful launch of their audio platform this company are looking for a multi-skilled software engineer to join the embedded & internet software team. You’ll be exposed to a range of technologies as the role contains elements of web applications and lower level software close to the hardware. Suitable software engineers will have C or C++ skills, a splattering of web technologies and ideally exposure to multi threaded software, TCP/IP, HTTP & socket programming. They may consider a recent graduate software engineer with relevant project experience.

Position: Software Engineer
Location: Hertfordshire – 25 min commute from London Euston (they are 1m walk from the station)
Salary: £25-35k.

Desirable: Embedded systems, Audio, LAMP, AJAX, Linux development (ideally including embedded, but desktop OK), iPhone, Android, web services, SQL Databases, scripting.

Primary responsibilities will include

• Development of embedded products, focusing on connected multimedia
• Development of database-driven web applications for back-office and end-users
capabilities
• Timescale estimation and planning, analysis/design/specification, coding, test/debug, documentation
• Keeping up to date with new developments and techniques
