Embedded Software Engineer – Windows CE & Drivers

Lead Software Engineer (technical, not man-management) within a small team developing hardware drivers, and other components on WindowsCE and bespoke development platforms. We are looking for a highly competent, experienced embedded software engineer who takes on the more difficult parts of a project, is often asked for advice on technical issues, someone who is not necessarily looking for a management role at the moment - but maybe a step up the ladder or just a new exciting environment to work in.

Position: Windows CE /Lead Embedded Software Engineer C/C++.
Location: Hertfordshire.
Salary: £35-45k.

Key Skills: WinCE, Embedded C, Device Drivers, good views of systems architecture issues.
Desirable Skills: Other OS’s, Linux, Embedded RTOS’s, understanding of hardware, Platform Builder, graphics.

Primary responsibilities will include:
 Create and develop the WinCE drivers for hardware
 Work with the other teams to make the whole product successful
 Documentation of design
 Delivery of the final packages to the customer
Required Skills:
 Low level embedded or device driver development
 Experience with WindowsCE 5.0, 6.0 and beyond
 Excellent C programming skills
 A good appreciation of systems architecture issues.
Desirable Skills:
 Experience with hardware platforms
 Experience with GDI and Display Driver components
 A background in 3D graphics
Operating System:
 WinCE with knowledge of WinXP
