Embedded Software Project Manager

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the experienced software manager will drive software releases through an agile development process from release through to delivery. There may also be a need to act as the equivalent of a scrum master and coach within one or more scrum teams working alongside a product owner. This is not a program management position and the focus will mostly be on execution within an engineering organisation.

Embedded Software Project Manager Background/skills:
• Most likely currently an engineering manager, scrum master, project manager, product owner (or equivalent) with 3+ years in that position
• Some sort of exposure to agile is very desirable; but is not essential for the right candidate. An ability to deliver software and be flexible in process is more important.
• Demonstrable knowledge & interest in a range of software development processes and metrics
• A technical background delivering embedded software products.
• Proven software lifecycle management experience,
• Strength of character to work with and influence a highly skilled development team ensuring they adhere to the agile process and principles with no line management responsibility.
• Able to encourage a team to self manage and improve rather than controlling.
• Technical enough to able to contribute to development process as well as understand enough about serious defects or feature issues within a given release and to gain trust of wide team
